Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi announced in a post on his X account that the Iran–US talks have been scheduled for Geneva on Thursday of this week.

He expressed pleasure in confirming the arrangement and described the upcoming meeting as a positive effort aimed at taking further steps toward finalizing an agreement.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and a US official also confirmed that the indirect nuclear negotiations between the two sides are planned for Thursday.

Meanwhile, Araqchi held a telephone conversation with Al Busaidi on Sunday night to discuss the latest status of the indirect talks between Iran and the US.

During the call, the two sides consulted on the arrangements for holding the next round of nuclear negotiations.

The second round of indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the US was held in Switzerland on February 17, mediated by Oman.

In comments after the conclusion of the talks, Araqchi said the negotiations were conducted in a serious atmosphere and were more constructive compared to the earlier round.

According to the foreign minister, various ideas were proposed and reviewed during the talks in an effort to move toward drafting a text. He said the two sides reached a general agreement on guiding principles and would from now on discuss those principles in order to enter the stage of writing the text.
