Iran early on Sunday confirmed that Imam Khamenei was martyred in the Saturday attack by criminal US-Israeli forces.
In a statement, the IRGC expressed condolences on this great loss and described Ayatollah Khamenei’s martyrdom on the path of Islam and Iran as a sign of a victory and getting close to goal.
It stressed that the martyrdom will strengthen the resolve of the Iranian nation to follow the path of Imam Khamenei.
The IRGC also said the criminal and terrorist move by the wicked governments of the US and the Zionist regime was a blatant violation of religious, moral, legal and common principles, vowing the Iranian nation’s harsh, decisive and regret-inducing retaliation.
Iran’s Cabinet of Ministers has declared 40 days of national mourning following the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution, stressing that this major crime will not remain unanswered and those behind it will be made to regret their move.
The Iranian Armed Forces have responded to the US-Israeli aggression by launching massive missile and drone strikes on Israeli-occupied territories and American bases in the region.
