Iranians Bid Farewell to Martyred Commanders

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A large number of people attended a funeral procession held in Tehran on Wednesday for military commanders and others martyred in the ongoing US-Israeli aggression on Iran.

Society/Culture

The ceremony began in Enghelab (Revolution) Square with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and playing of national anthem and included elegy recitations.

The participants in the procession chanted slogans like Allahu Akbar (God is great), death to America and death to Israel.

They appreciated the Armed Forces for the retaliatory strikes against the enemies and demanded punishing the aggressors.

They also renewed allegiance with the new Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

The martyrs for whom the funeral procession was held today included Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRCG) Major General Mohammad Pakpour, Secretary of Iran’s Defense Council Ali Shamkhani, and Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, who were martyred in the US-Israeli aggression on February 28.

In response to the aggression, the Iranian Armed Forces launched Operation True Promise 4, conducting missile and drone strikes against targets in Israeli-occupied territories and the US bases in the region.
