The Iranian Army announced in a statement on Wednesday that it has conducted drone strikes on the location of US AWACS and tanker aircraft stationed at Ben Gurion Airport, the radar site for detection and tracking of missiles and combat drones, and the electronic warfare sites countering combat drones stationed in the UAE.
The Army said the strikes have been carried out in response to the savage aerial attacks of the Zionist regime and the criminal United States against Iran, especially the targeting of residential and non-military areas.
The Army of Iran said it had previously also targeted US bases in countries of the region and military areas in the occupied territories with drone strikes, which, according to received information and monitoring of satellite images, have caused serious damage to these centers and have severely disrupted combat operations and combat support of military aircraft, as well as the tracking of missiles and combat drones.
In the most recent wave of attacks, powerful Arash-2 drones with an operational range of 2,000 kilometers were used, the statement noted.
The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.
The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.
In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
