The IRGC announced in a statement on Wednesday that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is decisively and fully under the control of its naval forces.
According to the statement, analyses and eyewitness accounts indicate that the intensity of Iran’s missile strikes toward central Israeli areas and various parts of the Middle East since early morning contradicts claims by Tel Aviv and Washington that such attacks have decreased by 90 percent, a narrative it said has been repeatedly promoted by US and Zionist officials.
The IRGC said its naval forces, since dawn on April 1, have carried out five large-scale and extensive operations as part of the 89th wave of Operation True Promise 4, using a combination of Qadeer ballistic and cruise missiles as well as attack drones to destroy key military targets belonging to US and Israeli forces.
It added that in the first strike, two early-warning air defense radar systems used by US forces and stationed on a maritime structure in the waters and islands of the United Arab Emirates were destroyed with high precision.
The statement further noted that an oil tanker belonging to the “illegitimate Zionist regime,” identified as “Aqua 1,” was precisely targeted in the central Persian Gulf and was reported to be on fire following the missile strike.
According to the IRGC, a concealed gathering site of US forces outside the perimeter of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain was struck with a large number of attack drones and several ballistic missiles, with field reports indicating that many senior naval officers were transferred to hospitals in Manama after the attack.
It also said that a Chinook helicopter preparation center and equipment storage hangars at Al-Udeiri base were targeted using a combination of ballistic missiles and drones.
The statement added that multiple waves of attack drones were launched toward the US aircraft carrier group USS Abraham Lincoln in the northern Indian Ocean, and that, based on satellite imagery and documentation, the group had retreated from its previous position deeper into the ocean.
It further reported, citing intelligence sources, that an earlier IRGC naval attack on a gathering site of US officers in the UAE had resulted in the confirmed deaths of 37 individuals and injuries to many others, who were subsequently transferred to hospitals.
Finally, the IRGC emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz remains firmly under the full control of its naval forces and asserted that the waterway would not be reopened under “the theatrical gestures” of the US president against the Iranian nation.
The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.
The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.
In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
