In a telephone conversation on Saturday night, Araqchi and his Pakistani counterpart Muhammad Ishaq Dar discussed the latest regional developments and bilateral relations.
Ishaq Dar outlined Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at halting the US-Israeli military aggression against Iran and restoring peace and stability in the region. He emphasized the importance of continued consultations to achieve these objectives.
For his part, Araqchi expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s good offices and elaborated on the crimes committed by the United States and the Israeli regime over the past 35 days. These, he said, included attacks on Iran’s industrial and production infrastructure, safeguarded peaceful nuclear facilities, hospitals, schools, universities, and residential areas.
Araqchi stressed the need for a decisive international response to unprecedented violations of international law.
The Iranian foreign minister further underlined that the US and the Zionist regime, as initiators of the imposed war, bear responsibility for the current insecurity in the region and its global repercussions.
He reiterated that Iran remains firmly determined to continue defending its national sovereignty and territorial integrity by employing all available capabilities.
The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of then Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.
The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.
In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
