Iran’s Islamic Propagation Coordination Council on Monday announced programs for the commemoration of the 40th day following the martyrdom of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

The council invited all noble Iranians to participate with maximum and resolute presence, creating another scene of enduring epic.

On Wednesday, April 8, coinciding with the 40th night of the martyrdom, mourning ceremonies, traditional chest beating by mourning groups, eulogies, mention of the tragedy, and recitation of the Quran will be held in all main squares, mosques, and holy sites across the country starting at 8 pm local time. On this blessed night, mourners will gather to spiritually and wholeheartedly glorify the noble spirit of the late Leader.

On Thursday, April 9, mourning groups and religious associations will march from the Jomhuri-e-Eslami (Islamic Republic) Square of Tehran toward the location in front of the martyrdom site starting at 9 am, the time when Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei was martyred on February 28.

There will also be a collective recitation of prayers for the health of Imam al-Mahdi (AS), featuring the voice of the martyred Leader, at 9 pm in squares and holy sites.

On Friday, April 10, before the glorious Friday prayer, starting at 10 am simultaneously in prayer halls across the country, a commemoration ceremony for the 40th day of mourning for Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei will take place.

This event will include a series of spiritual and epic programs such as a Quranic gathering, completion of recitation of Quran, collective recitation of Surah Al-Fath, reading of the 14th supplication from Al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya, elegies by the mourners of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), performances of choirs, recitation of a pledge to the martyred Leader, and speeches in mourning for Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, with the presence and participation of the general public as well as activists from mosques and religious associations throughout the country.

The Islamic Propagation Coordination Council also announced that home mourning ceremonies will be held from April 8 to 10 by the noble public in their homes, along with a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fath, dedicated to the victory of the heroic nation of Iran and the Resistance Front.

The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
