The development came as the government implemented the "Transit of Goods through Pakistan Order 2026," aimed at facilitating smoother cargo movement and strengthening trade links with Iran, Xinhua reported.

According to the ministry, multiple routes passing through key locations in the southwestern areas of Gwadar and Taftan, as well as the southern port city of Karachi, have been designated as transit corridors, forming an integrated network for goods destined for Iran.

The country's Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan said that the initiative is a significant step toward promoting regional trade and enhancing Pakistan's role as a key trade corridor.

"This move will strengthen Pakistan's strategic importance and improve regional connectivity," the minister said.

Officials noted that the designated land routes are expected to streamline logistics, reduce bottlenecks, and ensure more efficient transportation in accordance with customs regulations.
