A source close to the negotiating team told a Tasnim correspondent that following Iran’s delivering of its 14-point proposal three days ago, the Americans have once again given Iran a text through a Pakistani mediator.
Iran is reviewing the text and no response has been given yet, the source told Tasnim, adding that the Pakistani mediator in Tehran is seeking to bring the texts closer together.
This informed source emphasized that nothing has been finalized yet.
The United States and Israel launched their unprovoked war of aggression against Iran on February 28.
In response, the Iranian Armed Forces carried out attacks on American and Israeli positions in the region and the occupied territories, showcasing their capability to retaliate effectively. Contrary to the aggressors' expectations of a quick victory, Iran's powerful counterattacks for 40 days inflicted significant damage on US and Israeli military assets.
In an effort to de-escalate the situation, Pakistani mediation led to a temporary ceasefire deal on April 8 that allowed for negotiations in Islamabad.
The talks stopped short of an agreement amid Washington’s maximalist demands and insistence on unreasonable positions.
