The crisis can only be resolved through diplomatic channels that take Iranian interests into account, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Thursday.
Speaking at a briefing to reporters, Zakharova also said that only Iran itself should decide the fate of its uranium reserves.
She added that Russia is fully prepared to provide the necessary assistance to Tehran and Washington to implement decisions that may be reached during the negotiations between them.
On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping condemned the US and Israeli military attacks.
In this joint statement at the end of Putin’s visit to Beijing, Russia and China considered the US and Israeli military attacks on Iran to be a violation of international law and the basic principles of international relations, which seriously undermines stability in the Middle East.
They emphasized the need for the parties involved in this conflict to return to dialogue and negotiations as soon as possible in order to prevent the spread of the conflict.
