In a message released on Saturday, Pezeshkian described the team’s early and commanding triumph in the continental competition as a shining manifestation of the talent, honor, and abilities of the young generation of Iran.
“The early and dominant championship of our national cadet Greco-Roman wrestling team at the Asian competitions in Vietnam is a brilliant display of the talent, pride, and capabilities of the sons of this ancient land, who once again demonstrated their merit on the international stage through hard work and perseverance,” the president said.
Pezeshkian noted that the achievement serves as a reminder of the responsibility of all institutions, particularly the Ministry of Sports and Youth, to pay greater attention to young talents and provide comprehensive support for them to continue excelling in future sporting events.
Iran's national cadet Greco-Roman wrestling team clinched the Asian Championship title ahead of the conclusion of the tournament in Vietnam, delivering a commanding performance that left its rivals unable to close the gap in the team standings.
The Iranian squad entered the final day of competition with a substantial advantage after capturing six gold medals on the opening day. Building on that momentum, the team's remaining representatives continued their strong run, with one wrestler advancing to the championship final and two others securing places in bronze-medal matches.
