Speaking to Tasnim on the latest developments about Iran-US talks, the informed source said, “The Iran-US talks in the quadrilateral format began at around 3 p.m. and were suspended for a half-hour break for consultations between the delegations after about an hour and a half meeting.”
The source noted that however, due to Trump’s threatening and insulting statements, the Iranian delegation refused to return to the four-party negotiations.
Meantime, Qatar and Pakistan’s efforts continued and messages were exchanged through mediators.
The source added that the mediators’ efforts are still ongoing but have not yet reached a final result.
During the meeting, the Iranian delegation explicitly protested the violation of commitments, especially paragraph one of the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The Iranian delegation has also called for the acceleration of the fulfillment of the US commitments regarding the release of Iran’s frozen assets and the issuance of Iranian oil exports certificates.
Regarding the nuclear issue, the Iranian delegation emphasized that the start of nuclear negotiations is conditional on the implementation of US commitments under paragraphs 1, 4, 10, and 11.
