Brigadier General Esmaeil Qaani issued a warning message addressed to Israeli forces, saying they would face defeat and expulsion if they continued military operations in southern Lebanon.
In a post published on his X account, the commander addressed the “Zionist terrorist and aggressor soldiers,” saying that Israeli forces had suffered 100 casualties in less than four days.
“You have suffered 100 casualties in less than four days,” he wrote, adding that if Israeli troops did not leave southern Lebanon voluntarily, “the epic of the year 2000 will be repeated once again” — referring to the Israeli regime’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon that year.
“Today as well, if you insist on aggression and occupation, you will be kicked out with humiliation and defeat,” he warned the Zionist regime.
The commander concluded his message with the phrase, “The choice is yours.”
The remarks came as the situation in Lebanon remains one of the central issues in ongoing Iran-US talks held in Switzerland.
Withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon and an end to Israeli military operations there have been among the focal points of discussions, as Iran has made the success and implementation of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding (MoU) conditional upon an end to war across all fronts, including Lebanon.
