The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy announced on Sunday that four vessels attempted to transit the Strait of Hormuz via an unauthorized route, resulting in two maritime incidents and the withdrawal of two other vessels.
In a statement, the IRGC Navy said the four "violating vessels," backed by American terrorists, switched off their navigation systems and ignored repeated warnings issued by the IRGC Navy's Strait of Hormuz Control Base before attempting to leave the strategic waterway through an unsafe route.
According to the statement, two of the vessels were involved in incidents and were brought to a halt at their locations, while the other two abandoned their course and turned back.
The IRGC Navy stressed that it maintains full control over the Strait of Hormuz and said the only authorized passage is the designated safe shipping route announced by Iranian authorities.
It reiterated that, as previously declared, "not a single drop of oil, gas, or chemical fertilizer" will pass through the Strait of Hormuz without prior coordination and authorization.
The statement also warned that vessels influenced by the propaganda of American enemy and attempting to navigate through unauthorized routes would "certainly be involved in incidents."
