Several US Troops Killed, MQ-9 Drone Hangar Destroyed in IRGC Strikes

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a missile strike on a US base in Kuwait during which several terrorist US troops were killed and an MQ-9 drone hangar was destroyed.

The IRGC public relations department announced in a statement on Thursday, addressed to the people Kuwait, “Honorable and noble people of Kuwait. Your warrior brothers in the IRGC, in order to punish the child-killing US army and its interference in the Strait of Hormuz, attacked and destroyed a large warehouse of military equipment, a Patriot missile defense system, and a US MQ-9 drone hangar at Ali al-Salem Air Base (in Kuwait).”

The statement added, “Your brothers also attacked the American forces’ accommodation, and two helicopter hangars in the Al-Adiri barracks, and while killing and wounding a number of aggressors, they inflicted heavy damage on several helicopters and drones.”

The IRGC also targeted a telecommunications tower in Kuwait in response to US attacks on telecommunications towers in Iran, the statement went on to say.

The statement rejected the “completely false” allegations that its strikes on US military facilities violate the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the countries in the region.

“From our perspective, the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of your government are fully respected,” it said.

It added that US military bases function under American rather than local authority, noting that these facilities are governed by the Americans without control of regional countries’ authorities.

According to the statements, the US military police control access to and operations within such facilities while American laws, military police and judicial authorities not that of hosting countries govern activities inside the bases.

“Therefore, it is the United States that has violated your territorial integrity and sovereignty, not us,” the IRGC said.

It emphasized, “Iran attacks the lands that are occupied by the US military, an army that knows nothing but crime.”

The statement also pointed to the burial of the remains of schoolchildren martyred in a US airstrike on an Iranian elementary school in the southern city of Minab on the first day of the US-Israeli aggression on February 28.

“Yesterday, the grieving people of Minab held funeral processions for the remains of their schoolchildren, which had been discovered under the rubble, and laid them to rest,” it said.

It noted that 168 souls, mainly students, were killed on the first day of the war in the attack by the “child-killing army” of the US, emphasizing that such crimes continue with some of them being carried out using US bases in Kuwait.

“It is our legal, religious, and logical right to target the invaders of our country and the killers of our children from wherever they attack,” the Iranian elite force pointed out.
