Hamed Kioumarsi, a senior researcher at Iran’s Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO), has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of an international academic journal based in Brazil that focuses on agriculture and related environmental and sustainability challenges.
The appointment adds to the participation of Iranian researchers in international academic networks and scientific publishing, amid growing global research on agriculture, food security, climate change, biodiversity, water management and natural-resource conservation.
The journal provides a peer-reviewed platform for research addressing contemporary issues in agricultural science and sustainable resource management.
In his editorial role, Kioumarsi will contribute to the journal’s scientific and editorial development, including supporting the peer-review process, encouraging international collaboration and helping shape its broader academic direction.
The journal also aims to strengthen its international visibility and pursue inclusion in major academic indexing databases, including Scopus.
Meanwhile, Iran’s diverse climates, ecosystems and agricultural systems provide a significant setting for research into crop and livestock production, water management, soil conservation, agricultural sustainability and climate adaptation.
