IRGC Reveals Enemy’s New Strategy against Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The IRGC Intelligence Organization said the US, the Zionist regime and their allies have acknowledged the failure of a strategy based on military strikes to undermine the Islamic Republic and are seeking to destabilize Iran through psychological, economic and security operations.

In a statement, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Intelligence Organization said assessments by US intelligence agencies indicate that Iran has moved beyond the stage of simply preserving its existence and has maintained its asymmetric capabilities, while also strengthening its national resilience and retaining control over the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the statement, US intelligence assessments further indicate that Iran is no longer merely responding to attacks but is moving toward greater strategic initiative and increasing its ability to influence the timing, location and costs of war and diplomacy.

The IRGC Intelligence Organization said a joint committee involving US, Israeli and British intelligence services, along with some anti-Iran opposition figures, had acknowledged the failure of the strategy of seeking regime change through military strikes.

It said information obtained by the organization showed that the enemy is now updating that strategy. Under the new approach, limited periodic attacks would be maintained alongside the activation of crisis-generating centers, psychological warfare, efforts to create turmoil in currency and financial markets, and counter-security operations.

The statement said the objective is to prevent the consolidation of domestic stability and Iran’s recovery of regional and extra-regional power by seeking to transform the “idea of resistance” into one of dependence, turn indigenous defense capabilities into dependent capabilities, and shift the country from a revolutionary approach toward a passive one.

The IRGC Intelligence Organization also said it had recently detected and monitored a Mossad project aimed at creating a secret, dedicated structure to exert pressure on Iran from within. It said the structure’s tools included establishing links with dissident groups, conducting acts of sabotage and using harmful local operatives.

The organization identified seven main areas of the enemy’s current efforts:

- Undermining the role of the Strait of Hormuz in Iran’s national security;

- Preventing Iran from repeating regional military action;

- Portraying the Resistance Axis as having limited capabilities;

- Imposing a maritime blockade;

- Eroding national unity while promoting dissatisfaction, polarization and exaggerated portrayals of differences;

- Exaggerating and exploiting domestic weaknesses, shortages and limitations;

- Encouraging people to take their grievances to the streets.

The statement said the main focus of the current strategy is to “disrupt stability and reduce the national resilience of Iranians” through cognitive warfare designed to generate fear and uncertainty.

At the same time, the IRGC Intelligence Organization pointed to significant domestic constraints facing the US, including the dismissal, demotion or removal of more than 23 military commanders and dozens of political and intelligence officials opposed to the US administration, the negative effects of Iran’s regional actions on US economic indicators, declining popularity of US President Donald Trump, uncertainty over political support for the Israeli regime, and limitations on the US military’s ability to provide offensive and defensive combat support against Iran.

The statement said the IRGC Intelligence Organization has consequently prioritized maintaining permanent military intelligence and readiness, countering actions that could undermine domestic calm, solidarity and cohesion, preventing hostile intelligence services from conducting security operations inside Iran and along its borders, and remaining vigilant against “neo-Daesh” elements and networks cooperating with terrorist groups.
