Israeli Settlers Besiege Palestinian Homes in Occupied West Bank

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli settlers, backed by the regime forces, have surrounded another Palestinian home in the village of Qusra, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, amid an escalating campaign of Zionist violence against Palestinians.

At least four Palestinians are inside the home, which belongs to Loui Beiruti, while Israeli settlers have set fire to nearby land, according to colleagues on the ground.

Coordination is under way to allow ambulances to reach the area and evacuate one injured person.

Qusra has faced an escalating campaign of settler violence over the past month.

In July, Israeli settlers set fire to a mosque in the village, while since August 9 they have besieged three Palestinian homes in the Ras al-Ain area, cutting access to water, electricity and other essential supplies.

Israeli regime forces have also restricted Palestinians from entering and leaving the area.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Qusra, Abdul Azim Wadi, told colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic that Israeli regime forces are attempting to arrest Palestinians who are besieged inside a house in the village.

Wadi said the settlers were continuing to besiege homes for the 21st day, while soldiers were preventing the transfer of injured people from a house under siege in the Ras al-Ein area of the village.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society also said settlers attacked an ambulance as it attempted to reach a besieged house in Qusra.

Elsewhere in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Information Center reported that Israeli settlers cut fences surrounding a Palestinian farm and homes in the Bedouin community of Khallet Al-Hummus, south of the town of Yatta.

Settler attacks continued this morning, with two sisters injured in the town of Silwad, northeast of Ramallah, while other settlers besieged Palestinians in Qusra, south of Nablus.
