Mongolia Lauds Iran’s Resistance to US Aggression

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mongolian Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh praised the resilience of the Iranian nation in the face of the recent US-Israeli war of aggression, highlighting the historical and cultural ties between the two countries as a basis for stronger relations.

Batmunkh made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Agriculture Minister Gholamreza Nouri, saying Iran’s government and people have learned how to confront US sanctions.

Referring to the unjust US sanctions against Iran, the Mongolian foreign minister said the nations familiar with Iran and its culture admire the country, its history and civilization, as well as “the spirit of resistance of the Iranian people.”

Nouri, for his part, referred to years of US hostile efforts to disrupt public order in Iran, saying the recent plots and aggression by the US and the Zionist regime had been thwarted through the resistance of the Iranian people.

The Iranian minister said infrastructure related to water and soil management was damaged during the hostile attacks and that several agricultural-sector employees and farmers were martyred across Iran.

Nouri also pointed to potential areas of cooperation in agriculture and meat imports, calling for the expansion and strengthening of economic and political ties between Iran and Mongolia.

Nouri is in Ulaanbaatar, the Mongolian capital, to attend the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).
