In a message of condolence released on Tuesday, Ayatollah Khamenei said Grand Ayatollah Shubairi Zanjani had devoted almost his entire life to learning, teaching and research, and was consistently recognized by his peers and teachers as a profound and meticulous scholar.
The Leader highlighted the late cleric’s mastery of various disciplines related to the derivation of Islamic legal rulings, saying his lessons were known for their extensive research and rigorous examination, even when attended by only a few students.
Ayatollah Khamenei further noted that over the past more than three decades, many scholars had benefited from Grand Ayatollah Shubairi Zanjani’s knowledge and carried his teachings into their own academic and educational work. He also praised the late scholar’s humble and fatherly conduct toward students and scholars, describing his presence as one characterized by both teaching and learning.
The Leader said the death of such an exceptional scholar has created a gap among the foremost Shiite researchers of the contemporary era that might take a long time to fill.
Ayatollah Khamenei offered his condolences to Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance), the Islamic seminaries, and particularly the late scholar’s students, admirers and family, and prayed to God Almighty for the elevation of Grand Ayatollah Shubairi Zanjani’s spiritual rank.
