Araqchi made the remarks during a meeting with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski on Thursday in New York, where he is attending the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Araqchi explained Iran’s positions on developments in West Asia, saying the insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz is caused by US aggressive actions.
He stressed the importance of all countries, including European states, adopting a principled position in condemning the US-Israeli military aggression against Iran and the crimes committed during the onslaught.
Araqchi also expressed concern over the continuation of the Ukraine conflict. He described attempts by some parties to deflect attention and link the Ukraine conflict to developments in West Asia as “very dangerous,” emphasizing the importance of European countries dealing responsibly with issues affecting their own continent.
The two foreign ministers also discussed the bilateral relations between Iran and Poland.
