Araqchi made the remarks during a meeting with Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos on Thursday on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The senior diplomat outlined Iran’s position on developments in the region following the US breach of its commitments and the intensification of its aggressive and destabilizing actions in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
Araqchi also stressed the need for all countries to adopt a responsible approach and “refrain from any alignment with the aggressors and lawbreakers.”
Kombos, for his part, emphasized Cyprus’ commitment to the principles of the UN Charter and international law.
The two ministers also exchanged views on bilateral relations and several issues of common interest concerning bilateral ties and regional developments.
