Rezaei said the Leader had wanted him to deliver the message to Putin as soon as possible. He added that the Russian president has conveyed his warm and cordial greetings to Ayatollah Hosseini Khamenei.
Speaking about his meeting with Putin at the Kremlin, Rezaei said the two sides discussed major regional issues, developments in the aftermath of the US-Israeli war of aggression, and regional security arrangements.
The Iranian security official also said they discussed the construction of gas pipelines from Russia to Iran. The proposed project is intended to help Iran address its gas shortages while enabling the country to export Russian gas to neighboring states, he explained.
The Kremlin confirmed the meeting through presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who said Putin and Rezaei had discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.
The visit comes amid continued high-level consultations between Tehran and Moscow. Iran and Russia began implementing their 20-year Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty in October 2025, an agreement aimed at expanding political, economic, security and defense cooperation between the two countries.
