In a statement released on Thursday, Baqaei responded to a claim by EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, stressing that European officials cannot evade responsibility through diversionary remarks and attempts to shift blame.
He also strongly denied reports alleging the presence of Iranian military experts in Yemen, saying the dissemination of such fake news is intended to cover up realities and divert public attention.
The Iranian spokesperson emphasized that the Yemeni people have demonstrated that they possess the capabilities, experience, courage and determination necessary to defend their national sovereignty and human dignity, and do not need any party to intervene on their behalf.
Baqaei condemned military attacks on various parts of Yemen, particularly civilian facilities, vital infrastructure and residential areas, which he said have killed more than 270 Yemeni Muslims, including 130 women and children, and injured over 650 others.
He also denounced the destruction of infrastructure and Yemeni people's homes and called for an end to aggression against Yemen's national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Reiterating Iran's principled position on the ongoing conflict in the Arabian Peninsula, Baqaei said establishing peace in the region requires an end to military attacks, respect for the Yemeni people's right to self-determination, the lifting of the naval and aerial blockade of Yemen, and dialogue based on the roadmap agreed upon by Yemenis and Saudi Arabia. He also voiced the Islamic Republic of Iran’s readiness to provide any assistance toward achieving these objectives.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman also criticized the continued exploitation of the United Nations Security Council to justify the inhumane blockade of Yemen, emphasizing the need for an immediate halt to military attacks and the complete lifting of the blockade and all illegal restrictions imposed on the country.
