President Sees Positive Outlook for Iran-US Nuclear Talks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed a positive view regarding the outcome of ongoing nuclear negotiations with the United States, saying a favorable result could help remove obstacles to the country’s development.

In comments at a meeting with the economic activists and investors of the northern province of Mazandaran on Wednesday, the president highlighted efforts to expand relations with other countries and neighbors.

Pezeshkian said Iran’s ties with the neighboring states have improved noticeably and that his administration is seeking to further strengthen the relations.

Pointing to the third round of negotiations between Tehran and Washington, Pezeshkian said the process would continue in Geneva with the presence of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.

He noted that the administration has sought to ensure that the course of the negotiations is guided and managed under the direction and guidance of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in a way that would move the country beyond the erosive situation of “neither war nor peace.”

Pezeshkian noted that if the negotiations achieve the desired result, it would undoubtedly create the possibility of removing existing obstacles and facilitating the country’s development process with greater speed and ease.

He added that a positive outlook could be seen in the path of the talks.

Iran and the US have held two rounds of indirect nuclear negotiations in recent weeks, mediated by Oman.

The third round of talks kicked off in Geneva on Thursday.
