“I sincerely appreciate the humanitarian and benevolent action of the honorable Pakistani government to pursue the release of 20 Iranian sailors who were in an inappropriate situation due to the seizure of their ship in Singapore waters,” Reza Amiri Moqaddam wrote in a post on X on Thursday.
“In this regard, I thank the tireless efforts of Mr. Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, especially Mr. Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, and other relevant bodies.”
The ambassador noted that the sailors had been transferred from Singapore to Islamabad after diplomatic efforts and returned to their beloved homeland a few hours ago.
