Iran’s Army Launches Retaliatory Drone Attacks on US Bases in Kuwait

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Army carried out retaliatory drone strikes against two major US military facilities in Kuwait, targeting ammunition depots, radar systems, and logistics infrastructure in response to repeated fatal US attacks on Iran.

The Iranian Army said in a statement on Sunday that its forces have targeted two key US military installations in Kuwait in successive phases of Operation Thunderbolt, employing explosive drones against strategic American assets.

According to the statement, the strikes were conducted in retaliation for repeated US aggression against Iran, the martyrdom of Iranian civilians, and attacks on bridges, infrastructure, and non-military areas.

During the 16th phase of the operation, the Army said it struck a US ammunition depot at Camp Udairi as well as Patriot radar and air surveillance radar systems at Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait.

The statement described Camp Udairi as one of the US military's most important regional bases, located about 104 kilometers from Iran's borders and serving as a key center for supporting and reorganizing American forces. It said disrupting the base would have a significant impact on US military support operations across the region.

The Army also identified Ali Al-Salem Air Base as a major US air transportation hub and a principal gateway for deploying military forces to West Asia, saying it plays a central role in Washington's regional military and logistical strategy.

The Army further announced that, in the 17th phase of the operation launched early Sunday, it again targeted the ammunition depot at Camp Udairi, along with equipment storage facilities and personnel shelters at Ali Al-Salem Air Base, in a new wave of retaliatory drone attacks following the enemy's violations of international treaties and crimes against civilians.

The Iranian Army stressed that its military campaign is aimed at defending Iran's national identity, its thousands of years of history, and a people who, guided by Islamic teachings, "neither commit oppression nor submit to it."
