In a statement issued on Monday, the IRGC said the two "violating" tankers attempted late Sunday to enter and leave the Strait of Hormuz through an unsafe route in the southern part of the strategic waterway.
According to the statement, the vessels were "incited and compelled" by the "child-killing US army" to use the unauthorized route before they exploded and were forced to halt.
"Here is our territory, and interference by the terrorist US military from thousands of kilometers away has no legal legitimacy and will certainly be confronted," the IRGC said.
It added that as long as continued US aggression in the region persists, "this passage will not be secure for the transit of chemical fertilizer or even a single drop of oil and gas."
The statement also warned the US aggressive army to prepare for Iran’s punitive operation over the illegal violation.
The latest announcement follows an earlier statement by the IRGC Navy that four vessels, backed by the US, had attempted to navigate the Strait of Hormuz through an unauthorized route after switching off their navigation systems and ignoring repeated warnings. The IRGC said on Sunday that two of those vessels were involved in maritime incidents and forced to stop, while the other two abandoned their course and turned back.
