In a statement, spokesperson of the Yemeni Armed Forces Brigadier General Yahya Saree said the Yemeni forces, with divine support, targeted gatherings of Saudi mercenaries at the Al-Dagharir military site in Jizan with several ballistic missiles.
He said the missiles struck their targets directly and accurately, leaving dozens of Saudi mercenaries dead or wounded.
The statement added that emergency vehicles were quickly dispatched to the site, while widespread confusion and anxiety spread among the Saudi mercenaries.
Separately, Saree said the Yemeni Armed Forces targeted Abha International Airport with a ballistic missile.
According to the statement, the missile hit the airport accurately and directly, disrupting flights and temporarily halting the facility’s operations.
The Yemeni Armed Forces again warned all international airlines against continuing to operate flights through Saudi Arabia’s airspace.
The statement said Saudi airspace, except for the airspace over the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, had become a “scene of military operations” for the Yemeni forces.
Jizan, in southwestern Saudi Arabia near the Yemeni border, has repeatedly been targeted by Yemeni missile and drone operations since 2015, when the Saudi-led coalition began its military campaign against Yemen.
The Al-Dagharir military site is one of the Saudi military positions in the area and has previously been targeted by Yemeni forces.
